Counselling can help you find a way through any difficulties you may be facing in a safe supporting environment. It offers the opportunity to talk and be listened to. Counselling will enable you to explore and better understand your thoughts, feelings and behaviour in relation to issues you are facing. This can empower you to find your own answers and solutions and in turn this could help to develop your confidence and self-esteem.

Our counsellors

We have a team of 22 therapists and counsellors, both on placement and qualified, who receive regular professional supervision, are committed to continued professional development and work within the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy Code of Ethics and Practice of Counsellors. Using an integrative approach (including CBT) our counsellors are experienced in areas such as: relationship issues, divorce, separation, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, panic attacks, bereavement, sexual abuse, assertiveness, unresolved past events and overall wellbeing.

Client evaluations

I benefited from having someone listen to me and take an interest without judging and speaking with someone impartial. I have learnt to rationalise and analyse my thoughts and feelings, making it easier to come to terms with what happened. It helped me to put many problems in to perspective. This is a valuable service as I would be unable to afford to go privately. I trusted my counsellor and was able to openly discuss my problems. I feel that most of my problems have been resolved and I have learnt how to cope and deal with situations differently.”
